How to Get Your Vehicle Access Code on OneMotoring (Singapore)

If you’re selling or de-registering a car in Singapore, someone will ask for your vehicle access code. It’s a short code you generate on LTA’s OneMotoring portal that lets a dealer or exporter check your car’s rebate and transfer fee without ever seeing your NRIC.

Takes a couple of minutes · Singpass app on your phone · free to request and revoke

What the code opens, and what it can’t

On 30 June 2025 LTA made the access code the standard way to authorise these checks, replacing the old method where people quoted the last four characters of your NRIC or FIN. Toggle to see both sides.

Who generates it

You, the registered owner, generate the code on OneMotoring after logging in with Singpass. You then share it with whoever’s helping you with your car, such as a dealer, an exporter, or a loan or insurance provider.

Why it exists

The code exists to keep your personal data yours: the other party gets to see the car’s figures, and nothing else about you.

The three enquiries a valid code opens

  • The PARF and COE rebate on your registered vehicle, which is the money LTA pays back when the car is de-registered
  • The PQP payable under the Category C Early Turnover Scheme
  • The vehicle transfer fee
For a car you’re scrapping or exporting, the rebate is the number that matters most Estimate your rebate

Your personal records

The code can’t pull up any of your other personal records. Your NRIC stays yours, which is the whole reason LTA introduced it.

Road tax and insurance

It can’t be used to renew your road tax or insurance. It opens a small set of OneMotoring enquiries tied to selling or transferring a vehicle, and that’s the full extent of it.

The car itself

It can’t be used to de-register the car or transfer it to anyone. Reading the figures is all a code does, and the owner stays in control the whole time.

Expires within 14 days, revocable any time, free to request and cancel

How to get your access code, step by step

You’ll need the Singpass app on your phone and a couple of free minutes. Tap any step to see the detail.

1 Request the code on OneMotoring

Go to onemotoring.lta.gov.sg. On the home page, under Popular Digital Services, click “Request Access Code.”

2 Log in with Singpass

Pick “For Individual Users” if the car is registered to you personally, or “For Business Users” if it’s under a company. The smoothest way to sign in is the Scan button inside your Singpass app, rather than your phone’s camera.

3 Select your vehicle

Under Vehicle Details, select the car you want, by its registration number. If you own more than one vehicle, you can put several under the same code.

4 Enter the recipient’s details

Under Recipient Details, enter the mobile number of whoever should receive the code. That can be you, or you can enter ours. Email is optional, but it’s smart to put your own email in so you keep a copy, because LTA only sends the code to the recipient, not back to you. There’s a Remarks box if you want to note the reason.

5 Confirm and save your code

Tick the terms and conditions box, then click “Request Access Code.” The next screen shows your six-digit code, the car plate, and the expiry date, and LTA texts the code to the recipient. Tap “Save as PDF” so you’ve got it on hand.

Valid for up to 14 calendar days, or until you revoke it · works more than once in that window · free to request and cancel

Why ExportCarSG asks for your access code

With your car plate and a valid code, we log in to OneMotoring and read the exact PARF and COE rebate LTA holds on file for your car. That figure is usually the biggest single piece of what your car is worth at de-registration, so our offer is an accurate quote, not a rough guess, often the same day.

One line on privacy, because it matters: the code only reveals your car’s details, the rebate and the transfer fee, and nothing else about you. It can’t be used to de-register the car or transfer it to anyone, and we don’t act on any transaction without your say-so. The moment you’re done, you can revoke it.

If you can’t find your code or it has expired

There’s no old code sitting somewhere to dig out. Each access code is generated fresh, so recovering an old one is never the job.

It isn’t saved anywhere

Each code stops working after 14 days, so it isn’t printed on your log card or saved to your account for reuse.

Just request a new one

If yours has lapsed or you’ve misplaced it, run the same steps above for a fresh code. It takes about the same couple of minutes.

Cancel a code early

A deal fell through? Log in to OneMotoring, search “Access Code,” open “Revoke Access Code,” pick the one you want to cancel, agree to the terms, and confirm.

Revocation is instant

It takes effect immediately. And like requesting a code, cancelling one costs you nothing.

The number that matters most

For a car you’re thinking of scrapping or exporting, the rebate figure is exactly what the access code opens up for us. Having the real figure means we come back to you fast, often the same day. If you’re still weighing your options, our renew, scrap, or export guide walks through how the rebate fits into each choice.

No code yet?

No problem. We can give you a ballpark from your car plate, its age, and its condition, then confirm the exact rebate once you’ve got the code.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to share my access code?

Yes, within sensible limits. The code only opens your car’s rebate and transfer-fee figures, not your NRIC or any other personal data, which is the whole reason LTA introduced it. It expires within 14 days and you can revoke it whenever you like. Share it with people you’re genuinely dealing with, and cancel it once the deal’s settled.

Do I need the access code to get a quote?

No. We can give you a ballpark from your car plate, its age, and its condition. The access code just lets us confirm the exact rebate on OneMotoring, so the quote comes back precise and quick. Feel free to message us on WhatsApp first and sort out the code after.

What if I can’t find my access code?

There’s nothing old to hunt for. Every code is generated fresh and expires after 14 days, so if yours is gone or lapsed, just request a new one using the steps above. With Singpass ready, it’s a couple of minutes.

How long does the code last, and does it cost anything?

It stays valid for up to 14 calendar days, or until you revoke it, whichever comes first. During that time it can be used more than once. LTA charges nothing to request, use, or revoke it.

Can the code be used to see my other personal information?

No. It only reveals details about the vehicle you selected: the PARF and COE rebate, the PQP for Category C early turnover, and the transfer fee. Your other personal records stay private, and the code can’t renew road tax or insurance.
